SPRAWL zero New Game Plus: Reliquary Modifiers and What Carries Over

Finishing the SPRAWL zero campaign unlocks New Game Plus. Your save file gains access to the Reliquary system: 11 modifiers built from the Relic Fragments you collected. The Reliquary lets you restitch the game harder or weirder before starting a second run. This page covers what carries over, how the modifiers work, and what changes in remixed encounters.

What carries over to New Game Plus

On a second run, FIVE retains all ability upgrades unlocked during the campaign. Bullet-Time, Gravity Shield, and Rushdown are available from the start of New Game Plus, even in The Graveyard.

Relic Fragments do not reset. The total you collected feeds the Reliquary unlock count. If you missed fragments in your first run, finding them in New Game Plus adds to your total.

Codex entries and story progress are tied to the save file. A New Game Plus run starts from The Graveyard with the Reliquary active.

The Reliquary modifier system

The Reliquary is the post-campaign modifier system. It opens after you finish the campaign once. The 11 modifiers are built from Relic Fragments; your total collection determines how many you can activate and at what tier.

Modifier types

The 11 Reliquary modifiers include both gameplay-affecting and cosmetic options. The achievement list mentions Rusted Relics and Golden Relics as separate tracks, suggesting tier differences in modifier strength.

Stacking rules apply. Activating multiple modifiers simultaneously may compound difficulty in unexpected ways. The Reliquary interface shows which modifiers are compatible before you start a run.

How to activate modifiers

After finishing the campaign, the Reliquary menu appears on the main menu. Select the modifiers you want before starting New Game Plus. The game saves your modifier selection with the new save file.

What changes in New Game Plus

New Game Plus is not only a difficulty modifier. The campaign encounters remix in subtle ways when the Reliquary is active. Enemy placement, spawn timing, and environmental details can shift compared to a first run.

Collectible placement also remixes. Relic Fragments, Codex entries, and secret weapons may appear in different locations, making a second run worthwhile for completionists.

The story does not change. This is not a branching narrative; the plot beats and ending remain the same on every run.

Difficulty interaction with Reliquary

Reliquary modifiers can be combined with any base difficulty setting. Playing New Game Plus on Martyr with multiple modifiers active creates the hardest version of SPRAWL zero. Playing on Unstoppable with no modifiers active makes the game more approachable for ability practice.

Before you start a second run

Make sure you have finished the campaign at least once. If you are going for 100 percent completion, find any missed collectibles before starting New Game Plus so you can maximize your Reliquary modifier count.
