SPRAWL zero Settings and FOV

SPRAWL zero’s settings menu is doing two jobs: honour a 2000s console look, and let a 2026 PC actually play. If you leave FOV at 60 on an ultrawide and then decide Gravity Gloves are bad, that is a settings problem. This page is the checklist. Specs sit on system requirements. Binds sit on controls.

Field of view (60–120)

PCGamingWiki documents FOV from 60 to 120. That range is the whole personality of the camera.

  • 60–75: original Xbox / early PS2 framing. Guns feel huge. Flanks feel cheap because you cannot see them. Fine on a living-room TV if you want the homage.
  • 85–100: the default-ish comfort band for most PC players. You can see a captain on a catwalk without turning the mouse 90 degrees.
  • 105–120: modern arena FOV. Glove grabs get easier. UE5 has to draw more street. If you are on a 1050 Ti, this is how you visit 40 FPS.

Change FOV before you rewrite your build. Sniper captain hunts are a different game at 70 versus 110.

Frame rate and vsync

Caps in a 30–240 window have been listed in public stubs. Match the cap to the display. 60 on a 60 Hz TV. 120 if you have it and the GPU holds it in Buried, which is heavier than The Graveyard. Vsync on if you hate tearing more than you hate a few milliseconds; off if you are used to shooting with tearing.

Uncapped menus in UE5 can still spin a fan. If the demo is loud at the title screen, cap globally.

Anti-aliasing and the Y2K look

FXAA and MSAA are the documented AA modes. FXAA is cheap and a bit soggy. MSAA is cleaner on railings and worse on a minimum GPU. If you are chasing the PS2-era look on purpose, a little aliasing is not a bug. If you are chasing readable captains at range, MSAA or a lower resolution scale with FXAA is the adult choice.

Do not install a pile of third-party injectors and then ask Discord why the Shield effect exploded. Play the shipped modes first.

Accessibility and difficulty adjacent options

Steam lists adjustable difficulty, playable without quick-time events, and several visual/input accessibility flags. There is no published dedicated colour-blind overhaul with named palettes. Use OS-level filters if you need them, and raise FOV so world weapons are larger.

Difficulty names themselves — Unstoppable, Formidable, Martyr — are covered on the difficulty page. They are not graphics settings, but they change how many frames you have to react, which is why they sit next to this hub.

Audio and the mix

The soundtrack and the squad chatter are part of the combat UI. If you duck music to zero you will still hear flanks, but you will miss the game’s entire pitch. If you duck effects, you will miss grenades. Keep a mix where voices and explosions both exist. Headphones make captain callouts easier; a TV speaker makes Shield catches harder to time by sound.

HUD and readability

You need to read faction colours on guns at a distance. If film grain or a heavy overlay exists in your build of the demo, turn it down until a Junta special is obvious on a corpse. The weapon tier list assumes you can see the tier.

A sane first profile

  1. FOV 90–100 on PC, 80-ish on a TV.
  2. Cap at 60 or 120, whatever you hold in Buried.
  3. FXAA on minimum GPU, MSAA if recommended GPU and you want clean rails.
  4. Throw bind on a mouse button you cannot miss.
  5. Difficulty Unstoppable for the first Graveyard, then Formidable.

Then go play. If the image is stable and you are still dying, that is combat, not the renderer. If the image is not stable, come back to requirements before you rewrite your augments religion.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for FIVE's first hours in the Sprawl.

What FOV should I use in SPRAWL zero?

90–100 on a PC monitor is the comfort band. 60–75 for the 2000s TV look. 110+ if your GPU can draw the extra street.

Does higher FOV affect aiming?

It makes flanks and glove grabs easier to see. Sensitivity will feel different; retune the mouse after you change FOV.

FXAA or MSAA?

FXAA on minimum specs. MSAA if you have recommended hardware and want cleaner edges on railings and signs.

Will console FOV match PC?

Console sliders are not something we will invent before September 8. PC is documented at 60–120.
